American Truck Simulator Convoy Multiplayer
Convoy is an exciting multiplayer mode that lets players create and host private sessions, with or without a password, to drive alongside friends or other truckers. This mode supports synchronized AI traffic, time, and weather, and even allows players to take on the same job together for a shared experience.
Convoy lets you create and host online sessions for up to 8 players. While the player limit is currently capped to ensure stability as the feature develops, plans are in place to increase it in the future. As the session host, you’ll automatically become the admin, giving you full control over the online environment. You can set the tone of the session and remove any disruptive players if necessary, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
You can view, filter, browse, and join any available sessions created by your friends or other truckers.
What features and options are available for players in Convoy mode?
Here’s what you can enjoy:
- Host and create private sessions for up to 8 players.
- Work together by hauling the same contracts or jobs from the same company to the same destination.
- Experience synchronized AI traffic, time, and weather for a cohesive gameplay experience.
- Enjoy synchronized visuals, including paint jobs, truck accessories, cabin decorations, and cargo details.
- Communicate with fellow drivers using the CB radio (X key), quick replies (Q key), or text chat (Y key).
These features create a dynamic and interactive multiplayer experience for all participants!
We understand how excited players are to explore the new Convoy feature, but here are a few things to keep in mind before hitting the road with your friends.
Known Issues / Not Yet Implemented:
- Mods are not supported in the initial release of Convoy mode.
- AI vehicles may disappear when a player disconnects.
- Lifting bridges are not synchronized and will remain stationary in this release.
- Using an owned trailer might result in a company trailer spawning in the same loading area.
- Steam invites currently work only through the Steam overlay.
- CB radio broadcasts (hotkey “X”) interfere with the text input field.
- The on-screen map (hotkey “M”) zooms out when scrolling through the chat in the Route Advisor.
Profile Safety:
Concerned about your progress? If trouble-makers or unforeseen issues arise, you can revert to a previous savefile created before joining the session.
